Dublin isn't the safest city to live in. I ride the Dublin Bus daily and usually once a month, our bus is attacked (usu. kids throwing bricks) and window(s) broken. This is really a chore because the bus driver has to stop and call the Gardai, and it takes between 30-60 minutes for another bus to come along and pick up all the passengers who are now left stranded. In the city center there are still pickpockets (O'Connell Street, Talbot street, and surrounding area). However there are fewer aggressive panhandlers these days. You are more likely to get hassled by a drunk Emo kid hanging out at the National Irish Bank. Generally Dulin is a nice city, but there is a lot of anti-social behavior, (i.e. drunk skangers wobbling down the sidewalk with a can of cider in each hand, yelling loudly at their girlfriends.) If the gardai could clean up the anti-social scum, Dublin would be in the top ten.
